Liquid Media
Ingredients for 1L (8 jars):
- 1L boiling water
- 30g liquid malt extract
- 1g of sawdust (about a tablespoon)
Equipment:
- 8x 330-400g glass jars with metal lids (eg. jam jars)
- tinfoil
- pyrex jug
- pressure cooker
- autoclave tape
Method:
Weigh out dry ingredients into pyrex jug, add boiling water to 1L.
Mix till combined then pour 125ml into each jar.
Loosely fit metal lids to jars.
Wrap lids in tin foil and mark with autoclave tape.
Sterilise using the pressure cooker method.
Cool to room temperature before using.
It might be possible to store jars at 4 degrees celsius for up to a week. But we haven't tested it yet
